Alan Joins SOE’s Leadership As New Board Of Governors Member

We are thrilled to share that our CEO, Alan, has been appointed as a member of the Board of Governors at the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE)! This new role marks a significant milestone in Alan’s journey as he takes on an opportunity to actively contribute to fostering entrepreneurship in Singapore.

About SOE

The SOE is a non-profit organisation that has dedicated over two decades to recognising and celebrating Singapore’s homegrown entrepreneurs. Through its initiatives, SOE provides opportunities for young individuals to connect with and learn from seasoned business leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and resilience.

At its core, SOE’s mission is to honour local entrepreneurs and inspire the next generation. Some of its key initiatives include:

  • Student Entrepreneur Programme: A mentorship-driven initiative designed to nurture budding entrepreneurs by offering real-world business exposure.
  • Student Interviewer Programme: Provides students with the opportunity to engage directly with successful entrepreneurs, gaining valuable insights into their challenges, achievements, and lessons learned.
  • SOE Awards: An annual event that celebrates outstanding entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions to Singapore’s business community.

Alan’s journey with SOE

Here’s a fun fact: Alan was a recipient of the prestigious SOE Award back in 2016! Fast forward 10 years, and he now takes on a new role as Co-Chairman of the Board of Governors, overseeing the PR & Media Outreach department. Reflecting on this milestone, Alan expressed his gsgratitude, stating that he is honoured to contribute to a cause close to his heart – giving back to society and supporting the entrepreneurial spirit.

Giving back: Impossible Foundation and Project KATE

Alan’s passion for uplifting others is deeply embedded in Impossible Marketing’s culture through the Impossible Foundation and its flagship initiative, Project KATE:

  • Knowledge: Sharing digital marketing expertise with local charities to help them enhance their online presence and outreach.
  • Awareness: Supporting non-profits by crafting impactful online campaigns that amplify their messages and drive greater community engagement.
  • Time: Advocating for volunteerism over monetary donations. With this belief, we proudly manage Giving.sg’s digital marketing campaigns pro bono, using our expertise to help charities reach more people online and inspire others to “Donate Our Time” together.
  • Education: Donating laptops to students from lower-income families to support their learning needs, particularly during home-based learning periods.

Another fun fact: Project KATE is 100% funded by Alan!

Looking ahead

As a member of the SOE Board of Governors, Alan is committed to furthering SOE’s mission by creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthening the support network for existing ones.

With his proven track record at Impossible Marketing and his unwavering dedication to making a positive impact, Alan is excited to contribute to nurturing and celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit in Singapore.
