Our humble beginnings

Founded in 2012 by Alan Koh, Impossible Marketing started with a simple yet ambitious goal: to help businesses enhance their online presence and achieve tangible results through effective digital marketing strategies. Alan, with his passion for digital marketing and a keen understanding of the evolving online landscape, laid the foundation for what would become a multi-award-winning agency.

By 2015, Impossible Marketing had expanded significantly, not just in its client offerings but also in its mission to make a difference. That year, Alan launched Project KATE, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative inspired by his personal journey. Growing up as an only child in a modest household with a single parent, Alan learned the value of giving back from his mother, who worked tirelessly as a cashier for over three decades. Her emphasis on helping others shaped his desire to create meaningful change.

Today, Impossible Marketing continues to thrive as a trusted partner for businesses across various industries. Our commitment to delivering results-driven solutions has earned us numerous accolades and a reputation as a trusted partner for businesses seeking to navigate social media. From search engine optimisation (SEO) to social media marketing, the agency remains dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals while driving meaningful change within the community.

Alan, the visionary behind Impossible Marketing

The feature by TheSmartLocal also highlights the journey of our founder and CEO, Alan. Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Alan began his career in the banking industry, where he excelled, earning an impressive eight industry awards within just four years. Despite his achievements, he left the financial sector in 2009 to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur – a journey filled with both challenges and triumphs.

Alan’s initial foray into entrepreneurship was far from smooth. He faced 11 business failures, losing more than 90% of his savings in the process. In one of his reflections on LinkedIn, Alan shared the struggles of his early days, including the difficulty of scraping together enough money to cover his coworking desk rental fee. Yet, his perseverance never wavered.

In 2012, Alan founded Impossible Marketing, guided by the mantra “I’m Possible,” a reflection of his resilience in overcoming obstacles. After experiencing repeated setbacks, he identified the importance of generating a steady stream of cost-effective leads for sustainable success. This realisation propelled him to master SEO, which became the cornerstone of his new venture. Initially, Impossible Marketing focused on SEO training programmes, empowering businesses and individuals to navigate the complexities of search engine optimisation. As the demand for digital marketing solutions grew, Alan led the agency into a new chapter in 2016 by expanding its offerings. This evolution included the establishment of Impossible Marketing Services Pte Ltd, a subsidiary dedicated to providing comprehensive digital marketing solutions for businesses seeking to elevate their online presence and generate more leads.

Fast forward to now, Alan has even been appointed as a member of the Board of Governors at the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE). Alan’s hands-on leadership and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in shaping Impossible Marketing into a trusted name in the industry. His journey is an inspiring reminder that resilience and adaptability can turn even the most challenging beginnings into extraordinary success stories.
